Coming with a group?

Groups are always welcome. For up to 30 people, there is no event to organise and no package to choose. Reserve your tables online, come to The Castle, order drinks at the bar and food from the normal menu, and enjoy the pub. Reserving ahead just means we can keep enough tables together. Walk-ins are still welcome.

Keep it simple

A relaxed pub experience, made easy for groups

Group reservations are intentionally simple. We reserve tables, guests order normally from the bar and food menu, and no complicated package or planning is necessary.

Larger groups

More than 30 people?

Send a simple group enquiry with your preferred date, arrival time and approximate number of guests. Larger groups are normally spread across several tables while The Castle stays open to other customers.

The Castle is open-plan. The rooms and sections connect, and there are no doors between them. If a larger reservation includes tables in the Middle Room, other guests may walk through to reach the Back Room. That's just how the pub works - still lively, still easy.

Looking for something more exclusive?

This is a secondary option for larger groups - not the usual way to visit. Most groups are happiest with a normal table reservation.

Back Room

Middle + Back Room

The Middle Room and Back Room can be reserved together exclusively. The Middle Room cannot be reserved exclusively on its own. Exclusive use means those two rooms are kept for your group, while the pub keeps its open atmosphere - there are no doors between the rooms.

  • About 80-100 people together
  • Depending on the booking, a designated part of our covered outdoor area may also be included
  • A room hire fee plus a minimum food and drink spend - two separate amounts
  • Food and drinks on the group's tab count towards the food and drink minimum. The room hire fee does not

Exclusive use of our Middle and Back Rooms is available for a room hire fee together with a minimum food and drink spend. The exact amount depends on the date, time, duration and size of your group.

We confirm the exact conditions with you before the reservation is finalised.

Food & drinks

Order what you like

Groups order from our normal food and drinks menus. Draught beer, cocktails, wine, soft drinks and our pizza menu. For a normal reservation, there is no food or drinks package to organise in advance. Pay individually, or ask for a shared tab.

You're very welcome. Up to 30 people can reserve tables as usual. More than 30? Send a group enquiry. We don't run private quizzes, quizmasters or company entertainment packages - just a good pub for the team.

You don't need a special package. Reserve your tables, bring your friends and enjoy the pub.

The Castle runs its own regular Monday Pub Quiz as part of the weekly programme. It isn't an entertainment service for private events.
